OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. | AstroTurf.com | June 3rd, 2025 — Texas Tech will meet rival Texas in a best-of-three Women’s College World Series championship series beginning Wednesday night after edging Oklahoma, 3-2, Monday at Devon Park. Red Raiders senior pitcher NiJaree Canady delivered a dominant outing, striking out eight over seven innings, and Lauren Allred’s walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh lifted Tech to its first berth in WCWS title play.
Under coach Gerry Glasco, Texas Tech has established a winning culture this season, riding a 12-game streak into the title series. The Red Raiders have outscored opponents, 33-3, in their six games at Devon Park, including Monday’s dramatic victory over the Sooners.
