RECYCLING
AstroTurf Corporation has forged a strategic alliance with the Turf Recycling Plant (TRP) in Calhoun, Georgia, to pioneer a sustainable solution for the recycling of end-of-life turf systems. This collaboration represents a significant step towards addressing environmental concerns associated with the disposal of synthetic turf.
In this partnership, AstroTurf and the Turf Recycling Plant will collaborate on the collection and processing of used turf systems, leveraging the facility’s expertise in recycling technologies. By diverting end-of-life turf away from landfills, the initiative aims to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible waste management practices.
The joint effort emphasizes AstroTurf Corporation’s commitment to environmental stewardship and aligns with global sustainability goals. By teaming up with a specialized recycling plant in Calhoun, Georgia, the company underscores its dedication to minimizing the ecological footprint of artificial turf systems. This collaborative venture not only contributes to local environmental efforts but also sets an example for responsible corporate practices in the realm of sports and landscaping industries.

SPORT GROUP IS TOP RATED BY ESG IN THE INDUSTRY
Sustainalytics, a leading global provider of ESG research, ratings and data evaluated the activities of all Sport Group manufacturing and installation companies, and we’re proud to have received a low or negligible risk rating in all categories. The categories included Environmental and Sustainable Impact of Products and Services, Emissions, Effluents and Waste, Resource Use, Occupational Health & Safety and Corporate Governance. Together this constituted an overall rating of 11.2 low.
WHY IS AN ESG RATING IMPORTANT?
Climate change poses one of the greatest challenges of our time, and the ESG risk rating holds companies and stakeholders accountable for creating a better future by positively contributing to the healthy development of societies and the reduction of our environmental footprint.
“We made this voluntary commitment because independent ratings keep us accountable and transparent, they are important for our customers, end users, staff, investors, and business partners,” said Dr. Klaus Hauschulte, COO Sport Group.
