OHIO — AstroTurf® has announced the hiring of Brian Banfield as Regional Manager for Ohio, adding a respected athletic administrator, facility leader, and longtime Ohio sports figure to its corporate sales team. Banfield brings more than 25 years of experience leading stadium and synthetic turf projects, along with firsthand understanding of the decisions school districts face when planning major athletic facility improvements.
Banfield joins AstroTurf after a long career with Poland Local School District, where he served as Assistant High School Principal and Athletic Administrator at Poland Seminary High School. In that role, he oversaw more than 20 varsity athletic programs, managed stadium operations, coordinated large-scale events, and led facility improvement projects that included digital video boards, scoreboards, and stadium upgrades.
His background gives AstroTurf a regional leader who understands facility projects from the customer’s side of the table. Banfield has led the evaluation and implementation of synthetic turf field projects, worked directly with vendors on design, budgeting, and installation, and helped schools navigate capital improvements from concept through completion. He also brings experience building sponsorships, advertising revenue, and community partnerships that help athletic departments fund and support long-term facility growth.

He was named 2021 OHSAA Athletic Director of the Year and served as an elected representative on the Northeast District Athletic Board from 2014 to 2020, including a term as board president from 2018 to 2019. His work connected him with athletic administrators, school leaders, and athletic organizations across the state, strengthening the relationships and regional knowledge he now brings to AstroTurf.
