Dalton, GA – AstroTurf, the inventor and leading innovator of synthetic turf, is pleased to announce Andrew Goldberg as Hybrid Turf National Sales Manager.
Goldberg has held numerous positions in the natural and synthetic turf industry, including assistant superintendent at a prestigious golf club in New Jersey, regional sales manager for a synthetic turf manufacturer, field testing technician for a design/consulting firm and director of sales for a sports field construction firm.
Goldberg joins AstroTurf as the company joins forces with SIS Pitches, the creator of SISGrass and the market leader in the design, manufacture, and installation of hybrid pitches to bring the best playing surfaces to professional clubs, athletic programs, and sports teams in the United States. The partnership makes AstroTurf® the exclusive dealer for SISGrass in the US, continuing the company’s legacy as the ultimate source of high-performance athletic surfaces.
The 2002 Penn State University graduate has been working in “every aspect of turf” since 2004.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to bring the hybrid turf system to the United States, “Goldberg said. “The partnership with SISGrass really allows us to take this technology to the next level. We are going to be able to offer solutions in a way that we couldn’t before.
“We’re not just looking for high-profile stadiums but being able to solve problems and stabilizing high-use areas is something we will have the ability to do and something we will focus on.”
When sports facility managers, coaches, and athletic directors want a long-lasting synthetic field that supports player safety, they turn to AstroTurf®. But now, they can also experience the benefits of advanced SISGrass hybrid turf technology.
“AstroTurf’s partnership with SISGrass solidifies our commitment to be the leader in the hybrid market in the US,” said Carl Capellas, AstroTurf’s National Manager of Soccer Sales in North and South America. “Creating a team that can represent that product is equally important and in Andrew, we have done just that.
“Andrew’s years of experience with high performing natural grass surfaces and existing knowledge of SISGrass made him the ideal candidate.”
SISGrass transitions natural pitches to a highly resilient hybrid system, giving athletes the playability of natural grass combined with the durability of premium synthetic fibers.
“SISGrass wanted a national footprint in the United States and AstroTurf is the perfect fit,” added Goldberg.
In his new position, Goldberg reports to Philip Snider, AstroTurf’s Chief Operations Office.
“We are very excited to welcome Andrew to the AstroTurf team,” Snider said. “Andrew has a great deal of knowledge from the natural grass side and the synthetic turf side and will be a great fit as we expand the hybrid turf technology in the United States. We are looking forward to seeing the SISGrass and AstroTurf brands work together to create more options for coaches and teams across the US.”
SISGrass pitches are 95% natural grass reinforced with high-performance polyethylene fibers. The blend of real grass with synthetic yarns achieves a superior playing surface for soccer, rugby, football, golf, cricket and other major sports.
This high-tech hybrid system is the field of choice on elite soccer pitches across the globe, including the Europa League Finals, the 2021 European Union Championship, the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, and the 2022 Club World Cup. It’s also extremely popular in professional rugby. Aviva Stadium in Dublin, the Swansea City Stadium & TC in the UK, and the Tianjin Olympic Center in China all feature hybrid pitches manufactured and installed by SIS Pitches.
