AstroTurf, a leading provider of synthetic turf, is proud to announce the successful installation of a state-of-the-art 3D3-60 AstroTurf Field System at the University of Missouri’s Stephens Indoor Facility. The system was installed by Mid-America Sports Construction, a regional AstroTurf distributor, and nationally recognized leader in sports construction.
The 3D3-60 AstroTurf Field System is a top-of-the-line product known for its resilience, durability, and safety features. This advanced turf system features the strength of nylon fibers and a Brock Powerbase Pro Pad, providing an optimal combination of firmness, and shock absorption.
“We’re thrilled to bring this cutting-edge turf technology to Mizzou,” said Curtis Wilson, a Regional Manager for AstroTurf. “Our goal has always been to deliver high-quality solutions. With the installation of the 3D3-60 AstroTurf Field System, we’re confident that Mizzou’s athletes will have a more consistent, and overall superior turf system to practice on.”
The new AstroTurf system will significantly enhance the practice experiences of Mizzou’s athletes, providing a consistently excellent playing surface. It will also help reduce the risk of injuries, thanks to the Brock Powerbase Pro Pad’s superior shock absorption.
“This is an exciting time for Mizzou Football,” said Eli Drinkwitz, Mizzou’s Head Football Coach. “The new AstroTurf field system will improve our practice sessions and help our Tigers perform at their best. We look forward to using it leading up to this season.”
The Tigers season-opener against South Dakota will kick off at 7 p.m. on Aug. 31 at home. The 2024 season marks the first year of league competition for the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas- Mizzou’s longtime rivals from the Big 12 Conference. The Tigers will also welcome Arkansas, Auburn, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt to Columbia in 2024 while traveling to Alabama, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Texas A&M.
